Formulation development

The pharmaceutical R&D laboratory at the University of Salamanca  carries out pharmaceutical development of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and veterinary forms addressing the following aspects: 

  • Pharmaceutical development of dosage forms including sustained release systems
  • Preformulation studies and selection of the dosage form
  • Compatibility studies of active ingredients and excipients
  • Formulation studies and design of the manufacturing process
  • QbD pharmaceutical development
  • Analysis of critical stages in the process
  • Establishment of control in process needed
  • Development of prototype batches (studies of forced stability and compatibility of the product with the packaging material)
  • ICH stability studies of pharmaceutical dosage forms (short and long term)
